I just wanted to make a post of the most talked about piece of news I've seen in a while; Britney Spears' 16-year-old sister is pregnant. As I was driving to work this morning, I heard this bit of news on three separate news radio stations, and when I finally entered work, at least five people came up to me and asked me if I had heard the news. It made me wonder what are news is exactly about today. Instead of the normal headlines that appear in newspapers such as global events, or news has become filled with headlines about Britney Spears. And while I understand why this has become part of the main stream news (because the girl was an apparent role model for others) I'm not sure it has become the main story, and why it is the only one that people care to talk about.
